Brotherly Love {Childhood}

You know it is your last shoot at a favorite location when for the second time, you get the police called on you.  Not that I am into criminal activity on a daily basis but when you find a location you love and has character, you tend to gravitate to it, especially when it is only .03 miles from your house.  But you know it is time to never set foot on the property again when the officer says, Ma'am this property is private property and the city has placed it uninhabital.  I don't want to have to tell you again to not trespass.  At this point I think my bottom lip was sticking out because I really don't like breaking rules.  Honest.  I was truly getting a tongue lashing by a police officer and he hurt my feelings.  It's not my fault the head of the home owner's association looks out his window with giant binoculars looking for me to pull up.  I just like it as a backdrop!!  It's cool!!  But I have to accept defeat.  I have a husband and four children who probably wouldn't understand me sitting in the slammer because I chose to break the rules, when every day I tell them to make good choices!!  So, this is my last showing of the delapated Piper Lake Club.  May it rest in peace.

 I did end up with some fun shots of Ethan and Evan showing some brotherly love even if it was  one-sided.  They were absolutely adorable and all kids when wearing their glasses should have to look out the top of them with that look!!

My Ellie {Childhood}

So my youngest, Elliana, had her first Halloween party this week.  She got to dress up and go be with her "fwends".  Before she left she let me take some pics of her and can the chicka work it out!!  I do have to say I am a little biased, but is she cute or what?!!

Caleb and Emma {Childhood}

"In the cookies of life, sisters are the chocolate chips." That was written by some one unknown and I have always thought it was so true, but as in my case, my sister is the caramel in my Starbucks Caramel Macchiatto. We talk every day on the phone and if we don't something just seems off in my day. When we were growing up she was my lile sister whom we so lovingly referred to as "Butterfly Butt" and it wasn't in reference to the shape or anything (hee hee), it was in reference to her Jordache Jeans that she wore all the time and on the pockets they had butterflies.

Now, we are all grown up and each have families of our own. I always call her when I have done a baby or a rockin senior so she can take a look or when I put something I think she would like to see on the blog, I always give her a heads up and everytime she praises me and tells me how talented I am and how she doesn't understand how "artistically" my mind works because she just isn't like that. She is a real ego booster!! She also loves to watch the pictures to music and gets all teary eyed!

Well, my little sister, after taking a break and having two children, went back to school two years ago and decided to tackle nursing school. So throughout this two years I have listened to her stories of what she has encountered and braved and cleaned up and had splattered on her and she doesn't complain. She made it through and graduated and is now a nurse at Olathe Medical Center and I am so proud of her. So for her graduation I thought I would somehow take pictures of my neice and nephew without her knowing and get in up on my site with a password and everything so I could surprise her by just telling her I needed her to look at something. I didn't think it was really possible because my neice, Emma, is 6 and well, I have a six year old and I figured my cover would be blown as soon as Kim asked her what she did that afternoon. Well, to my amazement, we all pulled it off and it turned out perfect. We even pulled it off secretly with an unexpected visitor to the photo shoot by a KCK Police Officer because apparently someone takes their job as President of a certain homeowners association very, very seriously and thought I was over-stepping my boundries a little close to their neighborhood pond. Apparently Mr. policeman thought the same because I got to stay and finish!! Anywho, here are some shots from the surprise shoot and this is Caleb and Emma, my beautiful neice and nephew.

Mia {childhood}

I am around little girls all the time, especially with me having four of them myself, so I am kinda used to the little girl thing.  Mia and I share the same birthday so I knew even before I got to her house to photograph her that we were going to get along just fine!!  Mia, her teddy and I all went out together and rolled around in the grass, had a tea party with teddy and there really weren't too many words spoken between us but we had a blast and she let me snap, snap, snap.  I realized that in a lot of the pictures she is just toting her little friend around not worrying if the little guy is comfortable or minded being carried around by the neck or foot  and then in a few of my last pics of her i got some pictures of teddy's actual face  and realized that her teddy didn't mind anything at all, he was just happy!!
